The world is filled with problems…ADDICTION, Human trafficking, Suicide, Assault, Divorce, Abortion, Disease, Child abuse, depression…the list could go on, and on.
5 children die from child abuse every day
129 people commit suicide every day
42% of marriages end in divorce
1 in 5 Americans are diagnosed with depression
88,000 alcohol related deaths per year
Human trafficking is the 2nd fastest growing criminal industry in the world
So what is the Answer?
When God created the world, He made it perfect. No worries. No problems. No disease. However, God gave Adam ONE commandment and Adam broke it. Although God made Adam perfect and sinless, He also gave him free will. God wanted Adam to choose to love Him and obey Him.
When Adam disobeyed God, he brought sin and death into the world and destroyed the relationship he had with God.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: ” Romans 5:12
All of the world’s problems go back to that one singular event in history which brought with it all the sorrow, sickness, and suffering we face today.
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ME?
Just like Adam, we have all sinned and disobeyed God.
We have all broken God’s law and just as there was a penalty for Adam’s sin, there is a penalty for yours and mine also.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23
The penalty of sin must be paid. God’s holiness demands it.
WHAT IS THE ANSWER?
God knew we could never be good enough to escape punishment and earn a place with Him. So, He paid the price Himself and made a way for everyone to have life in Him.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
WHAT DO I DO?
There is nothing more you can add to what Jesus did for you on the cross.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” Titus 3:5
However, you can do nothing less than repent and believe. You must change your mind about your sin and agree with God that it is devastating.
At the same time, you must believe Jesus died and rose again to pay for your sin. You must believe He can and will give you eternal life if you turn to Him for salvation and trust in Him with all your heart.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10: 9, 10, 13
When you seek God’s forgiveness and turn your entire life to Him in true repentance and belief, He will give you eternal life!
WHAT’S NEXT?
If you have made the decision to repent and trust in Jesus Christ, He has given you eternal life and made it possible to have a relationship with Him. Now He wants you to love Him and grow in that relationship through obedience to His Word.
Please let us know about your decision to trust Christ as your personal Savior. We want to rejoice with you and help you as you begin your new life in Christ!
